      Greek mythology refers to the beliefs and the tales created by the ancient Greeks, regarding their gods and heroes,the nature of the world and their own cult and ritual practices. Modern scholars consulted to the myths and studied them in order to enlight  the religious and the political institutions of the ancient Greeks and more over on the Greek civilization. The Greek God Of War was known as Zeus. Ares was the his sole son and his wife Hera.

      He was a bearded, good looking man in the prime of life. His symbol was his spear, and he is also associated with the vultures and the dogs. His strength were decisive, determination, fearless. And his weakness included, impulsiveness, bloodthirsty, always willing to fight regardless the consequences. His childern were Diomedes, by the fairy Cyrene;  Cycnus by Pyrene;  Oenomaus by Sterope,  one of the seven sisters comprising the Pleiades gathering. Ares enjoyed his strongest worship in the Northern Greece territory of Thracia or Thrace. Ares is considered to be same as the Roman god Mars, but is generally thought to be more vicious and uncivilized.
