What Does A Passive Voice Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Passive is the opposite of Active in English verbs. Active obviously implies some positive deed, while Passive suggests a less dynamic quality to the verb. Eg

I shall attend the concert tonight (ACTIVE)

I shall be attending the concert tonight (PASSIVE)

Both effectively mean the same thing, but one suggests a more dynamic approach than the other.
