What Is The Origin Of The Surname Friedenreich?
Our last name is Friedenreich. We'd like to know if the country of origin of the name is German or Austrian.

I have a couple of ancestors in my family that have this version and 2 other variations of this in their secondary names. The surname is different though. Anyway, from what I've learned so far it seems to come from the area of Germany once called Prussia, or Bremen,Westfalen,Germany. I hope this may help you out a little. Good luck on your search.
