How Is Wrestling Fake?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

All the moves are choregraphed. It's like dancing. They sometimes put small razors on their knuckles so it scrapes the opponents skin to look like they are doing serious damage.  Plus the way they look when they are getting hit and acting hurt is a bit meladramatic.

I had a friend who wrestled professionally and everything is choreographed, but sometimes even after practicing the moves accidents happen and they really do harm their so called opponent.

Yep, as the two others posted, it's all choreographed and the outcomes are known well in advance. Even the incident many years ago with the comedian andy kaufman and jerry lawler was staged. My step mom said she dated a few wrestlers back in the 70's (she would never tell me who though, lol!) and went to a couple of their practice matches they'd have before the show.
        yeah, it's definitely fake ;)
