Different countries require different vaccines for travelers.  This is because that different countries have different diseases that are either distinct to that country or it's a disease that that country has obliterated and they don't want it back in their country.  In short, it's not only Egypt that requires vaccines, even the US requires certain vaccines in order to travel or reside here.  My husband is going through this now for his visa process, as his records are no longer available he's got to get the required vaccines now so that he can enter the country.

Some countries have problems with diseases other countries don't have, and for their own protection, tourists are advised or required to have certain vaccinations before entering the country.  This is both to protect you and to keep you from passing mutated or super-strong forms of these diseases along.  Be sure if the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend a vaccine it would be in your best interest to get it before you go.  Good luck!
