Right after Jesus was baptized, He was lead by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness (desert), where he fasted (did not eat) for 40 days and 40 nights. Then after his fasting He was very hungry, that's why Satan tempted him with changing food into bread. So 40days/40nights.
