The Hassockfield Secure Training Centre is located in County Durham. It is a place that houses and looks after close to 42 girls and boys between the ages of twelve and seventeen. It was opened in the year 1998 with the help of funding from the Youth Justice Board of England and Wales. All of the youngsters here are either serving sentences or are awaiting their trial and are thought to be one of the most difficult as well as damages youth among the country.

The centre offers these youth as much help as they can in dealing with problems such as drug and/or alcohol abuse among many others. They can also be educated under the National Curriculum. It centre works with the government to prevent and reduce crime, terrorism, reoffending and immigration.
