Glemsford is a village based in Suffolk. It is situated in the Babergh district. It is located near the town of Sudbury. It is based near the Glem River and Stour River. It is also quite near to historic villages in Suffolk like Lavenham and Long Melford. There is considerable amount of arable farmland around Glemsford. This village finds mention in the Domesday Book in 1086. It has a railway station named Stour Valley Railway. It started in 1860’s and was widely used during the World Wars. It was so because this station harboured ammunition trains.
It also has a lot of village shops and public houses like the Black Lion and the Angel and Cock inn. One of its prided possessions is a Monks Hall, a medieval structure with a legend that it was used by the monks for worship rather than with the common folks. It was connected by a tunnel to St Mary’s Parish Church.
