Do You Prefer The "Star" Method Of Rating, Or The "Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down" Method Of Rating?
There is a new format for rating answers on Blurtit...I like the stars better because you can choose whether the person's answer is deserving of a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (based on content, wording, significance, originality, accuracy, yadda yadda). However, with the thumbs, you can only choose from two options (up or down). I think it's more affective to give someone a star rating. What do you think?

I just checked a few Qs. I perfer the hands. The last rating version would only show the current rating on that answer, not how many times it was rated. This hands up/down version Is the same system we had on the debate section.

I like the star rating because it has an in between level for the times that are not great but not awful either. Why do they keep changing all this! I gie all these changes a thumbs down

No, I do not like it. As was previously mentioned, the star rating gave a bit of leeway for those answers that were not 'spot on' however they weren't necessarily wrong either. ♥Nassy

I prefer the star method... If you liked an answer but didnt LOVE it then that would reflect in how many stars you get. They were unfair in the way they switched over.... Registered members LOST points. I lost over 8000 points... And I intend to complain until I get them back. They were already earned, they should have left those points alone and started with current activity for the new ratings.

I hear ya Mati. This is so annoying. Yesterday I had over 7,000 points. Now I have 5,000. What's up with that?! :(
There are sure a lot of GUESTS answering this with their opinions, are there not. They must be in the habit of going into other peoples homes, as GUESTS, and telling them how to aqrrange their furniture better, because that's the way THEY like it.
I don't mind the thumbs rating but to cheat you out of points to get that system working is so unfair what are the mods thinking or are they thinking,I'm glad the site is free because if it were a university and I were paying there would be he-- to pay the mods need to think a newbie can come on and have as many thumbs up as you have and you have been here a year or more and they just got here, unless the guest get to be a part of that and when they signup they already have points.....something smells

I agree... Seems to me that they're trying to run off the registered users and make this a free for all for anonymous guests to take over... Whats next? Take away user status alltogether? And make us ALL guests? Oh boy... What fun. I have yet to be able to actually post a rating since the change.
I totally agree with the star method vs. The thumbs. It really doesn't seem quite right does it? Ugh.

Star, easy. Thumbs up/down is only good/bad, what if the answer was so so, or kinda good. Where is the middle ground? (Not to mention the lost points from this new method):

Why are you a GUEST? Come, jump in the water here with the rest of us.
I prefer The hands because its so much easier than having a choice of five because you don't know whether it's worth 5 or not! Xx

Prefer what you like GUEST, come out, come out whoever you are.
Please go back to the star system Blurtit. The thumbs down has been hacked. These hackers are a lot smarter than you MODS, it seems.
The whole system seems to have been compromised. At least one of these people keep coming back as a Baby Blurter with TONS of carried over points.
Check it out for yourself, IT'S TRUE.

I don't agree with rating systems period. Just because something is popular does not make it right. One persons rating could be right and the other raters wrong.

Who cares what a GUEST thinks? Come out of hiding aad join the club if you have opinions.
Thumbs up/down looks better, atleast you would be happy that you are not given poor ratings loll. But I am not happy about removing the points.

The more they mess with the site the worse it gets. I like knowing exactly what people thought about my answers, now its yes or no... Ill probably be giving more no's than yesses. Ill try to give you a thumbs up..if it'll let me.
I much prefer the thumbs, which was the only rating system I was ever here for. 1-5 stars sounds too confusing
