Newcastle in the county of Tyne and Wear in the north-east of England is known for its culture, shopping, museums, nightlife, festivals, music, fairs and fair share of consulates.

Places worth seeing are the Theatre Royal on Grey Street with its grandiose frontage, the Tyne Opera House, Northern Stage, Live Theatre, Newcastle Arena and several others for the artistically inclined.

For the partygoers it is the World's seventh best cities for a night on the town. The best clubs and nightlife can be found in the Quayside, Jesmond and Central Station Areas.

Compulsive shoppers or not try out the Northumberland Street which is a shopper's paradise. There are also the Eldon Garden and Monument Malls amongst a long line of shoppers havens situated all over the city.

For that perfect holiday photograph try Newcastle Central Station, the Millennium Bridge, Gateshead, Castle Keep and the Civic Centre which are architectural masterpieces from then and now.
