My favorite character from Shakespearean plays is 'Antonio' from 'Merchants of Venice'.  He projects a kind of loyalty towards his friend that is even ready to lay down his own life.

My favourite Shakespearean character is Friar Laurence, from Romeo and Juliet. He is helpful, kind, and patient. He brings Romeo out of his suicidal despair, which shows how extremely patient he is.He makes up a complicated plan to smuggle Juliet to Mantua, which shows how much he wants to help.He is perhaps a little impractical, shown by his dangerous and complicated plan, but he is a good character and his heart is in the right place. He should have realised how extremely dangerous his plan was. He should have told the Capulets & Montagues before marrying their children. And he certainly should NOT have left Juliet alone in the vault. But he had very, very good intentions, and tried his best to save Romeo and Juliet, and he was their only true friend, and we have to respect him for that.
