    Lithonia is a city that is located in the Dekalb County in the United States of America. According to the 2000 census the population of the city of Lithonia was roughly around 2,187. The name of the city 'Lithonia' actually means "City of Stone". Lithonia is also the home for 'New Birth Missionary Baptist Church'.

    Lithonia lies in the heart of granite district of Georgia district, the name of the town was derived from the Greek word 'Lithos' which means stone. The granite dome which is located very close to the Stone Mountain is mainly composed of the rock that is called Lithonia gneiss.

    The geographical co-ordinates of Lithonia are 33°42′46″N, 84°6′21″W. Max Cleland (former member of the United States Senate) is one of the more famous personalities that originate from the city of Lithonia.
