What Is The Climate In Norway Like And How Does It Vary?

Answer Question

The lowest minimum temperature recorded is -51°C which obviously is an extreme. The average temperature in Norway is around 8°C.

The average annual rainfall in Norway is around 300mm in the mountains and between 500 to 1000mm in agricultural areas. Most rainfall is recorded in the months of July and August.

Given Norway's extreme northerly position, its mainland climate is surprisingly mild.

Given the amount of rainfall during the summer season Norway, many holiday goers tend to go for the cruise option where they can thoroughly enjoy Norway at its best but also avoiding the inland rainfalls.

It is quite mild, surprising that the country is in a very cold region.
