Can Woodwork In A Room Be Painted A Darker Shade Of The Walls Instead Of White And Is It OK To Use Satin Instead Of Semigloss?

I've painted my walls a light cream and would like to paint the woodwork a darker shade of cream instead of the usual white. Is that OK? Is it OK to use satin on the woodwork rather than semigloss paint?

Yes of course you can paint the wood work a darker shade of the walls, there are no hard and fast rules in decorating, or Interior Designers would be out of a job! Mos people though do like the contrast of painting the woodwork a contrasting yet complementary colour. Again, yes you can paint in a satin finish paint.
