What Is The New Bulimia Medicine?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Conventionally, bulimia treatment often consisted of the patient being hospitalised to stop the bulimic pattern and then discharged soon after the symptoms disappeared. But this method does not directly address the problem with a holistic perspective; hence it is not used on a wide scale since recent times.

There are many residential healing centres that provide long term aid, counselling and other services. The most frequently used method of treatment for the condition concerns some kind of therapy, generally group psychotherapy or cognitive behavioural therapy. Treatment for bulimia and anorexia are generally the same, as these two disorders are often correlated. Generally they are given anti depressants like Prozac, which has proved to be the most successful. However, for more information on medication for the disorder, it would be advisable to consult your doctor.
