Earley in present times is a town in Berkshire, England. It got town status in the year 1974. The 19th century saw an unprecedented increase in the population of this town. The Church of England decided to grant Earley an independent Parish. The boundary of this town has been altered many times over the last century.

Millionaire Solomon Joel's demise on May 22nd 1931brought about a split in the vast estate of Maiden Erlegh. Slowly but surely the estates of other British aristocracy was reaching the end of an era. After the demolition of the Manor in the year 1960, there was an accelerated growth in real estate of this parish.

Henceforth plenty of land was available to others for public as well as private use. As a result this hamlet soon grew into a town. Beginning with Silverdale Road till Lakeside has an imprint of 1960's. In 1977 the 'Lower Earley 'estate was built.
