Like with humans, there isn't really a sure fire way of telling whether or not a dog is pregnant early on unless you take them to get a pregnancy test. However, there are a few things that may point to it as a possibility:
1) they may refuse to eat, sort of like a woman having morning sickness
2) they become more lethargic as their bodies take a great increase in activity
3) they are more affectionate and attention demanding than usual
(sounds familiar, right?)
