Why Is All The Good Tasting Stuff Bad For You?

I just found a new pop (to me that is) called 'die't dr thunder (believe it or not from wally world I know everyone doesn't like wally world), but it has aspartame in it....everyone(doctors ,independent studies) says it causes this or that- big C/pinholes in your brain whatever, why can't they make a great tasting diet pop without this poisonous chemical in it?

It seems that way but you have to not over do it and balance out the good and bad that is our (humans)fault, we over do most everything just sort of even it out with the healthy foods, I was just discussing this with someone else today, about pizza and I informed her about veggie pizzas but not all veggie pizza is good there is a Italian restaurant near me and the make the best, the use of Olive oil just make changes, the diet things I never could do because of the nasty after taste but yeah now they are saying these sweeteners are causing problems, I guess that is another reason for going with every thing new on the market because after you have consumed 10yrs or more worth the company or the Gov will drop the bomb...hope this helps and good luck

Aspartame is the "PitBull" of sweeteners. It has so many false rumors surrounding its safety. Its been blamed for cancers, systemic Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, fibromyalgia, joint pain, numbness, tinnitus, anxiety attacks, blurred vision, slurred speech, memory loss depression and death. According to the FDA, none of these claims have been proven. In the FDA's studies, they have never seen any findings to alert them that aspartame can be harmful. Aspartame has been on the market about 25 years and is used daily by millions of people. There may be some people that allergic to it, but it would only be harmful if you were... Same as if you were allergic to penicillin and was administered it by a doctor.

Like you I have heard studies on top of studies one says it won't hurt/harm you while others say that it will.....one even says it is not the aspartame itself but the reaction of the pop with certain foods .... I just wonder why they have to make a chemical version of a sweetner instead of using a natural sweetner ....aaaannnyyywwwayyy im out of here later

Just one point though before i quit....what if the allergic reaction is in everyone except they don't know it until after 25 years down the road..what if the aspartame effects everyones brains/muscles over say a 30 year period an unleashes a collective effect such as the ones you listed as not being found to be true....

That "what if" could be applied to just about anything we consume or use. What if daily use of the internet will cause cancer after 30 years of use? We will never know. There were claims a few years ago thet cell phone use causes brain cancer. Will eating at Sonic twice a month cause cancer? Will 30 minutes in a sauna every day turn your brain to jelly? Unless that person is never exposed to anything else that could be the cause of their health problems, then its impossible to pinpoint the culprit, and all the aspertaime-blamed health problems are not unique to just the use of aspertaime. I do believe they can find a way to sweeten things without the use of chemicals, but until then, I'll take my chances and enjoy my diet coke.
