Who Was The First Country To Win The World Cup?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The first country to win the World Cup is Brazil.  The first Brazil World Cup Soccer win was in 1958, when the great Pele was playing for the Brazil Soccer National Team, and was held in Sweden. The Brazilian coach Vicente Feola imposed strict restrictions on the players and gave them a list, which prohibited the team from doing forty things, which included not wearing hats or using umbrellas or smoking while wearing their official clothing. The next World Cup win for Brazil followed in 1962. Pele could not play in the finals as he was injured, and the star player of that year proved to be Mane Garrincha. A brilliant dribbler, despite his short stature and physical deformity, he possessed soccer skills few others could match. Brazil won its third World Cup in 1970. That match was played in Mexico, with Pele playing his last World Cup final before retirement. The 1970 Brazil Soccer World Cup team is considered the best national team Brazil ever had.
