    Electoral rolls are lists of registered voters that are eligible to vote within a particular county or area. In the United Kingdom getting on the roll is voluntary but if a person does not do so they can be fined. They are needed as a record of the electorate and are used in facilitating free and fair elections. In case you are not registered on the electoral roll but are eligible to vote you should get in touch with your local county office. The electoral roll is being constantly updated.

    Electoral rolls are also used by the government for statistical information or for conducting referendums, surveys, etc. It helps in the proper functioning of the democratic system. The electoral roll in UK contains a person's voter number, name and address, date of birth, postal vote if applicable, and weather vote was cast.
