I Really Want A Rat But My Mom Gets Mad At Me When I Talk About It! Should I Just Give-up?
I have a dog and a rabbit still but my dog loves my mom not me and my rabbit is too big to play with.

What are your mom's complaints? I have a friend with rats (GrayRain) and she and her parents have had a really great time with them. They are clean and intelligent if treaty and cared for properly. Commercial (pet) rats are NOT the same as street or sewer rats, or mice.

If you Mom is worried about the smell, get a girl rat, they are less smelly.
They are better than a hamster because they are not nocturnal and can be taught tricks. My best pets for children are rats and ferrets. I'm sure if you tell your mum you want a ferret she might let you have a rat! (Since ferrets have more of a bad press than rats!)
