Can You Give Me A Short Account Of Harry Potter?

Answer Question

JK Rowling has written 6 Harry Potter books so far, and the 7th is due out this summer, which will complete the series. Each book (and film) has its own storyline of course, but the basic background is always the same.

Harry Potter is an orphan, brought up by his horrible relatives, the Dursleys. At age 11 he discovers that his parents were wizards, killed fighting the evil Lord Voldemort, who seeks to take over both the "wizarding world" and our world (non-wizards, i.e you and me, are known as Muggles.) Harry is then sent to Hogwarts wizarding school to learn to practise magic.

It soon turns out that Harry has very special powers, and may be the only one who can defeat Voldemort. With the help of his friends Ron and Hermione, and various others, Harry develops his powers and engages with Voldemort and his allies; each time, the decisive battle comes nearer. We'll have to wait for Book 7 to know who wins!

The world of Harry Potter is a spark of the genius of J K Rowling. The author is credited with re-introducing reading as a hobby among the adolescents all over the world. The fictional character of Harry Potter is that of an orphaned boy, alone after the death of his parents. He is brought up by his maternal aunt and her husband. A long time since Tom Sawyer and David Copperfield, Harry Potter has again made children sensitive to the plight of orphaned children.

However, the adventures of Harry Potter do not revolve around heavy and sorrowful themes. In fact, J K Rowling has experimented successfully with the world of wizardry and magic. This is what makes Harry special. He is a wizard and the best one at that. Flying cars, invisible people and magical cloaks are the ingredients to every Harry Potter adventure. Besides this, the author has introduced a new game, Quiddich.

The world of business and entertainment has not spared Harry Potter. The concept has been capitalized on the wide screen and in gaming dens. There are a number of dedicated Harry Potter sites on the Internet too and the boy dominates the PSII games. There are board games designed along the lines of the rules of Quiddich laid down by J K Rowling.
