How Long Does It Take To Manufacture A Car?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It generally takes around five to seven days for the car company to make the main body of the car.

After officially ordering a car, the production number of the car is determined. Attaining a production number for a car can take anywhere from right away to several weeks, depending on how fast the dealer obtains a production slot.

After getting the number, the car goes into the production process and gets a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), generally a week within getting the production number. After about five to seven days, or even ten, the car is generally fully ready.

After that, the car gets shipped to its required location which may take around three weeks, distribution of the cars takes around two days and after preparation by the dealer the owner can pick up the car. Overall, counting buffer time, it takes around 50 to 60 days for the delivery of the car.
