When Your Dog Take Daily Meds And Tired Of It, What Is The Most Soothing Way To Get Them To Take It?

My dog is in the stage of congested heart failure. He takes a heart and water pill daily. He is getting tired of taking them and normally they would be in his food, but he knows. I am now to the stage of forcing them down his throat with my finger. I dont want to add any more discomfort for my pet and i hate doing this. Also i cannot crush the meds. Is there an alternative? He is very smart, i have to even move the meds around in the kitchen, because he knows whats coming.
