It's what ever they have worked out, it is so much better for the kids if their mom and dad can get along.

Not in my personal opinion. But, If the children are young in age, such as birth to 10 years, I would think it would be OK to visit the kids in the ex-wife's home. If he was court ordered to pay the mortgage, then it is justifiable for the the ex-spouse to pay the mortgage. If he is paying it out of the "kindness" of his ever sweet loving heart......then you need to examine some "issues." Now if the kids are of older age and it is OK with courts, and an agreement has been worked out for the kids to see the ex-spouse, then they should visit or stay at his/your house.
