What Is The Amount Of Foreign Investment In Pakistan?

Where the phenomenon of globalization has affected many developing countries who are on the verge to become future economic giants, Pakistan has not been able to remain an exception.  The field of foreign investment, with its share of benefits and its set of drawbacks, has continued to burgeon and grow in Pakistan, earning a plethora of approvals and a welter of criticism from many stakeholders.  

During the first 10 months of the ongoing fiscal year 2006-07, the foreign investment almost amounted to touch the 6 billion dollar mark.  This fact belied the predictions and conjectures that were circling in the political and economic dimensions, stating that the upcoming general elections would prove to be a source of discouragement for investors to invest their money in Pakistan.  Nevertheless the speculators who expressed these qualms are still adamant on their claims surmising instability in the economic arena in the aftermath of the general elections.
