No, snakes do not have any legs at all. Some may have small bony vestigial growths on their skeletons, but these don't count as legs since they aren't manifest on the outside of the animal.

Hahaha, eight thumbs up and three thumbs down. You'd think I'd said something controversial, like that vampires don't exist.
Woo, 8 to 5! Some people haven't studied their herpetology...
10 to 5...the smart people are winning.
Actually, Boas and Pythons DO have vestigial rear legs, and they have a pelvic girdle. The remnant legs show up as two small claws or spurs on either side of the vent. They are longer in males than in females, and male Boas and Pythons use these claws to scratch at the female during courtship to stimulate her to mate. These should NOT be confused with the male's sex organs, or "hemipenes", which are located inside the base of his tail, and which can be extended from the vent. Many wives' tales of snakes "growing legs" when tortured are actually reports of the hemipenes being extended in agony as the poor animal dies.

Snakes do not have legs. However, they do have hemipenis (did I spell that right?) which are two hook-like inner 'appendages' which come out to aid in copulation. If someone saw these, and did not know what they were, it is plausible that they could be mistaken for hidden legs.

You make a good point.
I agree with both you and Snarky
No snakes don't have legs yes they are a reptile but they dont have legs the have plates that lap over each other so that they can move and thats also why they move sid ways

Sid ways? You mean SIDE ways?
Snakes are reptiles that have no limbs.Even without limbs they move from place to place or climb trees easily. They are able to do this by means of the broad plates on the lower sides of their body.

Good answer sis
Cool you guys are brother and sister. CUTE!!
NO!!! Why would anyone think that? Anyway if you read the bible it says that the snake tempted adam and eve with the fruit and for punishment god took away the snakes legs so that it would have to pull itself everywhere.

Snakes do not have any legs, they just crawl little left and right to move on with the little help of its body formation or parts.

Scientists have recently found out that snakes move using their scales. Their scales grip the surface they are on and pull themselves forwards. They found that out by putting a snake in a kind of tube thing and the snake couldn't move anywhere. Then they put the snake on this clear table thing and i don't know but somehow they found out how it moves.

Great answer but I haven't said that snakes have legs actually they use their scales to crawl on the land.
Here are a couple of links, for all you "experts", who do not own or breed Boas or Pythons(as I do)and who do not also have a degree in Vertebrate Biology, as I also do:
Http://edwardbabinski.us/images/spurs1.jpg shows a close-up of the vestigial rear legs, called spurs, on a Ball Python. At THIS site, http://www.annh.org/exhibitions/lizards/snakes/python.phg you can actually see an x-ray of a Burmese Python with the rear legs and pelvis clearly visible.

Snakes don't have legs at all. But that does not mean they do not have legs last time. Snakes did have legs in the past, but after many generations, their legs disappeared.

"Harry Potter"'s answer below says he can see them. I don't believe him. So I 'll vote they don't have legs.

Heat them? Are we cooking them now?
Hisdimple you are so funny LOL
Not that I know of. They might, but you would probably have to research it, or have a snake as a pet. It also depends on what kind of snake you are talking about.
