Pregnancy is calculated from the first day of last menstrual periods because nobody knows when ovulation has occurred. Day of sex does not mean conception on same day. Ovulation takes place at mid of the cycle but some ladies can have late and some early ovulation. If I believe your date of conception is 21 March, 2009 then your possible date of delivery can be 12 October, 2009.

Using a Gestational Calendar, if you conceived March 21, your would be 40 weeks on December 12. You would get a better due date if you knew the first day of your last period.
