Yep.  I had just gotten to work and turned on the Computer. AOL news popped up and giant headlines about a plane crashing into the Towers.. And then shortly after the news about a 2nd plane.. I was reading it.. And yelling to my boss.. OMG Come look at this.. It was total disbelief and shock.  I doubt anyone will forget what they were doing when they heard.

My Mom was in Johann's Fabrics. (a crafts store) I pretty sure I spelled Johann wrong.

I was in the 5th grade when 9/11 happened. We had just started a spelling test when the principal barged into the room. She practically ran to my teacher's desk and very quietly whispered to her. My teacher gasped and her hand flew to cover her mouth(she's wasn't the gasping type), she crossed herself(she wasn't Catholic), and she said, "Oh, my God!"(we were in a Christain school...you know - saying God's name in vain). She told us to continue working quietly. As if we could do that with the teachers acting so weird!
My teacher got up and left the classroom with the principal, to attend a conference with the other teachers to try to figure out how much they were going to tell us. Looking back on it, I think they handled it very well.

I understand that 9/11 could be a difficult thing to explain to kids: 3years old - 8th grade. One question leads to another and pretty soon you're dealing with prejudice, religious extremists, terrorism, senseless death to innocents. How to explain the big WHY? And then there's what or even how much the parents want to tell them.

I was sleeping, and I got a phone call from my sister in law, I'm in the north, Alaska, and so the time difference was different. I jumped my fanny out of bed, and glued myself to the t.v., my daughter stayed home from school that day, and I cried, and cried, and prayed even more.

We were getting last minute details done before our wedding, which was the following Sunday, and also had a plumber in the house working on a broken pipe.  The plumber's wife called him on his cell phone, and he came upstairs and told us that a plane crashed into the one tower.  We turned the TV on, and watched with horror when the other plane hit the 2nd tower.  Ironically, we were going to take our honeymoon in Chicago the following week -- but we called the hotel and cancelled it that afternoon (they refunded every cent, because they understood we didn't want to be in a large city at that time), and instead went to a beautiful lodge in one of our state parks.  It was a terrible shock to see that happen.  You don't forget that, nor everything you were doing at the time.

Getting ready to school to high school. Must admit, didn't understand what was going on. I thought that something was wrong with the plain that caused it to crash. I wasn't paying attention cause i was running late for school as usual. When i arrived at school then i realized what had happened. We got out of school early that day cause it just so happened that it was a banked Tuesday. At home, all we did was watch the news. The next year our text books had 911 in them.

It was my sophomore year in school and I was in my choir class when we heard about it. We had TV's in all the classrooms so we all tuned in. Most of the students were running around freaking out and crying.

I was at work, on the manufacturing floor at IBM, when the reports started coming in of the attack.  Of course, when we went to break and tried to find what had happened, our server was so busy with everyone trying to find out what happened that we couldn't get onto the internet.  So I called my wife and had her watch the TV.

I was at work, and we watched it on the Tv in the sales men office, we were all excused to go home by our boss, who wanted to leave also to get his children out of school. We all had an air of complete shock and fear. We felt at war! it was a very scary and surreal day. I will never forget it!

I was in theater class in 9th grade. I walked into the room, and everything was in pandemonium. I remember being very confused, and didn't understand why someone would want to crash a plane into a building...

I remember that day very clearly. I was in second grade, drawing in art at that moment actually. All of sudden a report on the load speaker said, " Teacher please escort all of the children home, their parents are arriving". ( something like that lol).I live in New York so at that time they felt all school's in that state should evacuate. When I arrived home I remember my mother putting on the television and watching that tragic moment. I believe she was crying as well :(

I was at work. And someone said that an airplane flew into the World Trade Center. I did not believe them. Time went by and the scattered discussions turned into a full time out as many of us jump online or went out to watch TV.
I was in disbelief and turned extremely angry. I would have joined the military that day had I not been older than their maximum age limit.

I didn't find out about the attacks until i got home from school. My dad came home early from work and was mowing the lawn. Dad told me to turn on the TV. When i turned on the tv, i saw a large plume of smoke and realized it was new york. The next second, peter jennings said WORLD TRADE CENTER and i realized that they are gone. My dad came in afterwards and told me the whole story. After dad finished, a shot of the pentagon appeared, and realized that washington was attacked and my aunt and grandma lived nearby. Dad told me they heard a large boom and saw the smoke from their apartment. They lived less than 1/2 mile away from the pentagon.

At this time, I was in 7th grade when I saw the news on T.V. With one glance, I started crying due to the fact that my friend had gone to visit the WTC with his family. As I kept my eyes glued on the TV I saw another plane crash right into the second tower. I kept thinking my friend would be okay until I heard otherwise one week later. Overall the 9-11 attack caused me agony, anguish, and vengeance. After I saw all of this, the only thing I could think about was getting out of school, joining up with the army, and killing some dang Iraqis.
