Can I Loosen Packing Nut To Make Faucet Handle Easier To Turn?
I replaced the stem on my Price Prister two-handle shower (cold water stem because the shower spout was dripping). The drip is gone but now the faucet is tight and takes a lot of force to turn on and off. When I first turned the water back on after replacing the stem, water leaked through so I tightened the packing nut as hard as I could. How much can I loosen it now and will that help make the handle easier to turn?
