Are Jack Russles Mean?

Jack Russels are typically a working terrier that was used to bark at prey. Because of this, they can be quite loud and bark a lot.

Jack Russels are intelligent and have lots of energy (as you are probably finding out!) and even though they occasionally like to chill out, for the most part they require regular exercise and training to keep them "under wraps" and occupied.

If this does not happen, they can get aggressive and become unmanageable. Unfortunately, it does happen a lot where owners have taken on Jack Russels not being aware of this and eventually have to give them up.

The best thing you can do if you have tried regular exercise and your own forms of training, is to get in touch with professional dog trainers in your area, preferably ones that have dealt with or specialize in Jack Russels.

I've found that with most of my dogs, it is their upbringing and trainging that determines a lot of their personality rather than "inherent" attributes in their genes.

Great answer but i was wondering if you had a name of a good training book . Mr. Oliver was my daughters dog who could not keep him anylonger so now have 3 puppies!!!i
