Is it okay if I buy a new hamster and putting it in the cage with my old hamster, I've had my old hamster for almost a year now, and I think shes getting a little lonely, so I want to find her company..what should I do?

They do fight quite a lot, so it's a bit risky. If you do want to try this, you should make sure the new one is another female unless you want to breed them. It's also wise for the new one to have her own cage at first, so they can gradually make friends.

Dwarf hamsters are the only hamsters that like to live with other hamsters. Most hamsters are solitary animals and will not live well with another. I do not recommend putting a new hamster in with the older one
