I'm pretty certain that the status of the owners property has no bearing on the status of your rent. If there is a lease involved, you my be able to break the lease, but as long as you occupy the rental unit, you are still required to pay the rent. Forclosure could take up to a year. It would be nice to have a years free rent. Sorry, but i dint think its gonna happen like that. I'm sure the landlord informed you of the foreclosure to protect himself. This gives you plenty of opportunity to find another rental place.
