Chicken soup has been used to make people feel better for centuries. It is a bit of a 'do-it-all' which is used from a fever to a swollen foot. Making chicken soup is an easy task and there is very little probability of getting it wrong. Chicken broth can be stored and consumed over a period of time by keeping it refrigerated.

Heat the oil in a steel bowl over a medium flame. Once the oil starts crackling add onions and the diced chicken to it. Ideally use the leg or breast pieces because the flesh here is the most tender portion of the chicken. Cook the chicken till it becomes a light shade brown in color. Now reduce the flame and cook it for approximately 25 minutes. After this cook it at a high flame and add 5 cups of water to it. The water will begin to simmer, now reduce the flame to medium again. After about 30 minutes you will find that the broth has become thick.
Remove the pieces of flesh or skin left in the broth. Cool the broth to room temperature and consume.
