Explain The Unique Features Of Contract?

There are three essential features of a contract in American law: there must be an offer, an acceptance, and what's called "quid pro quo" a Latin phrase for "something for something." We simply call it "consideration" Here's how it works:  I make you an offer to fix the brakes on your car (the offer) and tell you I'll do the job for $200 (considertion, or payment). You accept my offer. Thus, we have a legally binding contract.  If any of these three elements are missing, the contract is invalid.  Contracts can be oral or written - both are enforceable by the civil courts.
