    The Museum in Docklands opened in 2003 in a Georgian warehouse; the museum is located at West India Quay on Hertsmere Road, London. The museum charts the history of London in relation to the river Thames going back 2000 years. The museum focuses on the role of London as a dockyard and port and the life of the people living on the banks of the river.

    The museum offers a fascinating trip through pre historic times to the Roman era and from the medieval period to the Victorian age encompassing the Industrial revolution and beyond. Several interactive features like Mudlarks along with talks, events and exhibitions conducted regularly ensure that visiting the museum is a complete experience in itself ideal to visit with children.

    The museum a branch of the Museum of London has in all 16 galleries classified according to the period. Exhibitions like for example Journey to the New World: London 1606 to Virginia 1607 which is scheduled to take place from November 23, 2006 to May 2007 re a major feature of the museum.
