I believe you have to take the papers you received from the court system saying you completed your probation,  along with a letter to the judge at the county courthouse asking to have it removed from your record.  If that doesn't work, you may have to seek legal counsel.  If you can't afford an attorney, you may be able to get legal representation from a service offered to people that can't afford an attorney.

What if the judge is no longer on the bench? The spouse is a practicing attorney so both the business and home address' are in the white pages. Who should I address the letter to? Would it be a stupid move to send a note to the judges home?

After a year or more has past and you have no more criminal dealings with the courts you can file for expungement of your record, just make sure you have all records expunged from the DA's office and all and any courts you have had criminal dealings with, if you leave one record out of the expungement any search will turn up the record, the best to you

I was 17 when i stole from Macy's it was stupid and i was dumb. Macy's told me i had 48 hours to pay there fine of $500 and i did. I have a court date at the end of this month is there any chance that they could let me go? Does it depend on the judge? Am i going to have to pay more fines?
