      No because it has to be during new lease signing and you get the option to sign or go month to month and give notice when moving.......the best to you

        Actually, it depends on what type of housing you live in. In low/affordable income housing, a rent increase can go into effect without a new agreement being signed. However, tenants are notified in advance in writing and have the option to move after initial lease term.
