Earthworms help the soil by sucking up all the nasty bacteria and disgusting things in the ground. Which then leaves the nutrient which helps the soil so much.

actually, earthworms help the soil by fertilizing it and digging tunnels. they fertilize the soil through their castings (or waste product) this makes it easier for plants to grow. the worms also dig holes in the dirt, softening it and allowing oxygen and water to reach the plant's roots.

Earthworms irrigate the soil by creating lots of tiny passageways allowing rain to be absorbed into the soil more easily. This promotes growth.

They help the soil by decomposing the decaying plants and animals  and making tunnels to let rain in.
