Where Are The Netherlands?

Netherlands is situated in northwestern Europe. It shares its borders with the North Sea towards the north and the west, Belgium towards the south and Germany towards the east. The borders that are there at present were established in the year 1839.

The Netherlands is also known as Holland. Netherlands has a high population rate and it is geographically a low-lying nation. It is quiet for its windmills, cheese, clogs, dikes, tulips etc. It follows quiet a broadminded policy towards drugs, prostitution, same-sex marriages, abortion and euthanasia.

The country also plays host to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court at The Hague. The capital of Netherlands is Amsterdam. Netherlands has a growing and open economy in which the government has active reduced its role since the 1980s.
