The Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft is Steven A. Ballmer. Microsoft Corporation is currently the number one manufacturer of software for personal as well as business computing. Ballmer is a Harvard University graduate. He completed his bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics. After college, for two years he worked at Procter & Gamble Co., and then studied at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In 1980, he joined Microsoft and was hired by Bill Gates as the first business manager.
Ballmer has been the head of a number of Microsoft divisions. He became the president in July 1998. He then went on to become the CEO in January 2000. There have been allegations, filed in a state court in Washington, that he vowed to "kill" Google Inc. in what has been described as an obscenity-laced tirade.
