Are Baby Monitors Reliable?

Baby monitors are reliable as long as you buy them from a decent manufacturer. You can tell if you have a reliable baby monitor by the quality of the sound and how far the monitor covers area wise from where you place it. 'Tomy' baby monitors are really good and many mothers swear by them.

A good baby monitor is also quite sturdy. You do not want something which looks and feels like it will break easily. Accidents do happen, and if the monitor is really close to the baby or young child, it could easily get knocked over and it could break.

If you are unsure it is always better to ask at your local 'Mother care' or similar store and they will be happy to advise you of what brands are better to go for. Overall though, most baby monitors are reliable and they do have to pass certain tests before they are approved.
