The Triple Crown is associated with thoroughbred racing.  Different countries have different interpretations of the Triple Crown.  In fact, the Triple Crown term originated back in 1853.  The most famous Triple Crown is the United States Triple Crown, which consists of three races starting with the Kentucky Derby, the first Saturday in May.  The Triple Crown consists of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.  Three races in a 5-week period of time where top thoroughbreds battle over untried distances for the first time in their lives.  Winning the Triple Crown is difficult and hasn't been done in over 25 years.  If you are really interested in horse racing and the Triple Crown, I suggest first a website - www.horseracegame.com - that presents a virtual Triple Crown racing game so you can jockey and train past champions through their 3-year-old racing season including all the Triple Crown races.  The site has amazing graphics and is tied to a very active community loaded with rich, entertaining horse racing content.  I suggest you also read the book, Triple Crown Winners.  It's a great presentation of the past Triple Crown winners and a theory on why we may never see another Triple Crown winner again.
