Peter Reid was born in Huyton Merseyside in June nineteen fifty six and went on to play for his first club Bolton Wanderers after playing for the youth team there.
Reid joined the profeesional ranks of the game when he signed pro terms for the Trotters in nineteen seventy four. Reid spent eight years at the Lancashire club before he was sold to for a cut price fee to Merseyside club Everton in nineteen eighty two.
In his eight years at Bolton, Reid played two hundred and twenty six league games and scored twenty three league goals for the club.
Reid enjoyed his most sucessful period in the game during his seven years with Everton, including two league championships in nineteen eighty five and eighty seven; one FA cup in nineteen eighty four and one cup winners cup winners medal after Everton won the trophy in eighty five. Reid was also part of the side that lost the eighty five cup final to Manchester United.
