Sebaceous cysts are small closed sacs under the skin filled with sebum. These cysts can appear any where on the body except palms and soles but most affected areas are ears, upper arm, head, back and face. In males these cysts can also be on scrotum and chest areas. These cyst usually don't harm and need no treatment. But can cause cosmetic problems and hence removed by surgical incision. The sebaceous cysts can become infected and start draining. Antibiotics are ideal treatment for such conditions.
If you have infected sebaceous cyst which is also draining then use bandage to avoid spreading of puss to other areas. Bandage should be changed daily. If the cyst is large and draining large amounts of pus then visit to doctor.
