There are B+Bs here that charge less than € 73 per room, per night, even in high season. The GayOpen Bed and Breakfast sounds especially central, and you can stay there for only € 38 per person per night.
The Gaymap lists some more B+Bs. Doesn't give prices, but you can link to the websites and browse from there.
Stay gay Barcelona has a link for getting 75% off of Rome hotel rooms; presumably they only link to gay-friendly hotels?
