Pretty subjective question. PHP is open source, asp.net is proprietary. I have used both, and prefer PHP because of the great frameworks and code libraries (namely symfony, cake, Zend) that exist

I think asp.net is better as we dont have to write everything we can drqa an drop the controls and also the coding becomes easy due to intellisence.
