It would be difficult to say without actually seeing the site but the possibility is that it is shingles. I would highly recommend that you set an appointment with your physician. If it is shingles it is not deadly but is painful and can last a very long time. It is treatable but the sooner the medication is taken, the better. To have shingles you must at some time in your life had chicken pox. If you have not had chicken pox, it is not shingles. I still would recommend a visit to your Dr.
