What Are The Symptoms Of Arthritis Of The Neck?

I have been diagnosed with arthritis of C-4 and C-5 which are in the neck.  I have had severe pain, burning, in my neck bones.  Also in felt as though there was a large nail sticking me in between my neck bones.  They were also sore to the touch.  This went on for months.  I had x-rays, MRI's.  I was injected 6 times (very painful but worth it).  These injections have helped tremendously.  My doctor also told me to apply horse liniment - containing peppermint.  This helped with the pain also.  I kept heat on it for a long time also. I could not take ibuprofen or aleve due to stomach problems.  I would take extra strength tylenol.  I was prescribed Darvocet which helped, but I don't like taking medications that impair.  While it will probably never feel normal, all of these have helped.
