The current Mayor of Philadelphia is John F Street from the Democratic Party. The population of the city is approximately around 1, 518,600. On the East-Coast it is the second largest city in the United States. Sometime during the 18th century Philadelphia was the most populated city in the United States of America, it was also the capital of the United States.

    The city of Philadelphia is also known as "City of Brotherly Love" it is also known as "The City That Loves You Back", "The Quaker City" and "Philly". The motto of the city is "Philadelphia maneto" – "Let Brotherly Love Continue".

    Philadelphia historically is one of the most important cities in Untied States of America. It is also one of the most important cities in the US due to its political importance.

      Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania. It is the fifth largest city in the United States. It is situated on the bank of Delaware River. Philadelphia gets its name from two Greek words meaning "city of brotherly love." It is also known as "Philly' which is nothing but a shortened version of its original name. It is the most populous city in Pennsylvania. It had a population of 1,517,550 inhabitants as per the 2000 census. It is the second largest city in the East coast of US.

      It is a flourishing and significant commercial, educational and cultural centre in the United States. It is also one of the oldest and major cities in US during the 18th century this place held a lot of prominence as it was the second largest English speaking city in the world standing next only to London. It also had a lot of social and political significance and even eclipsed cities like Boston and New York. The famous scientist Benjamin Franklin played a major role in the rise of this city.
